For the Everyday Ordinary...

"Normal Day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all in the world, for your return." ~ Mary Jean Iron

First day of LOAD 212!!

First LOAD page by A Mermaid Dream
First LOAD page, a photo by A Mermaid Dream on Flickr.
I have not scrapbooked in years - seriously, in YEARS! So, sitting down to my first page in about 12 years or so was a bit scary, but very exciting.

It is funny - I honestly believed that my first pages would be photos, but instead, the story of the romantic restaurant that my husband and I used to go to during our dating and early marriage years was the story that wanted to be told. So that is what I focused on.

While I have much prettier pages in my scrapbooks from years ago, I am just so tickled that I pulled things out and got the story down so that my children might know a little slice of life before they were on the scene. =)

I can't wait to make my page for today! Yay!

  1. Funny how that works isn't it? You set out expecting one thing will come out of your creative flurry, and another entirely different thing emerges. This is such a nice scrapbook page! And to know the meaning behind it is wonderfully inspiring. Thank you for sharing it, I can't wait to see more!
